The October 6 University
was founded in 1994 on an area of 30 feddans in the sixth of October City, one of Cairo's
nearest new cities. It is only 35 minute from the heart of the capital.
It is situated at the city entrance and served by all the main axes leading to the city.
The October 6 University comprises a group of faculties, the divisions of which are set
forth in the table inluded on this page.
The University also houses a cluster of research centers. It has been furnished with the
latest scientific equipment such as the following.
Classrooms, auditoriums with ahdio-visual equipment, a Center for scientific Computing and
consultations, computer labs including micro-processing lab, a logical design lab, a
computer maintenance lab,

maintenance lab, personal
computer labs, a physics lab and language labs.
Labs and studios also include a photography lab, a press lab, a lab for information
systems and telecommunication technology, a T.V. studio, light equipment and Radio
studios. Also available are a chemistry lab, an electronics lab, a material length lab, a
fluid lab, a materials lab, a soil mechanics lab.
Other facilities available include clinics, cafeterias and restaurants fully equipped to
recieve students, visitors and trainners, a kitchen for training, a laundry, rooms for
internal supervision training, gyms and a printing press.
Also available are equipment for the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences which includes
amorgue, autopsy model museum, faculty labs, pharmmaceutical studies labs, physical
therapy units and gyms. |
